Frequently Asked Questions

What is Angel Food Ministries?
Angel Food is a cooperative grocery program that anyone can use. Working together, we pool our resources nationwide and are able to get GREAT GROCERY DEALS!  This program which allows people to purchase high-quality, fresh and frozen groceries at a discounted cost.  Each signature, convenience and allergen-free box consists of a pre-selected menu of food that varies each month.  Also available are different monthly specials.  There are no qualifications to meet and no applications to fill out to participate in this program.

How Does it Work?

Ordering with Angel Food @ Liquid is easy.  You simply place your order at the church or on the website .  Stop in, pay online, or mail your payment by the due date, and then come in and pick up your food on delivery day.

Who can Order with Angel Food @ Liquid?

Anyone can use Angel Food!  There are no forms to fill out, other than your order form.  There are no qualifications you have to meet.  It doesn't matter where you live (so long as you can get to us on distribution day), how much money you make, what church you attend (or don't attend).  We want EVERYONE to use this service!

How Many Boxes Can I order?

You can order as many specials and boxes as you’d like; there's no limit.  You could order 3 combo boxes and nothing else.  You could order 1 combo box, 1 convenience box and 3 specials.  You could order only a fruit and veggie special.  It’s up to you.

How many Boxes SHOULD I Order?

That’s up to you, too!  Normally, one signature box will assist in feeding a family of four for about a week, or a single person for about a month.  Of course, it depends on your situation and preferences.  Single people or people who bring their lunches to work often prefer the Convenience Boxes, because they just go right in the microwave without a lot of leftovers.  We have lots of options, including a box that eliminates 8 of the most common allergens.  Our fresh fruit and veggie specials are always the most popular selections.   Remember, too, that because Angel Food Ministries is a non-profit organization, any boxes you purchase to donate to someone in need may be fully tax-deductible!

How Much Does it Cost?

Each Signature Box costs $30.  The Convenience Box costs $28.  The Allergen-Free Box is $25-$40.  The monthly specials vary in cost, although they usually run around $18-$24.  If you bought comparable items at the grocery store (like what you'd find in the Signature Box), you’d spend about $50-$70!  Remember that orders must be placed, and paid for, in advance.

When is my Order Due?

Check your menu or the website to find out this month’s Due Date.  All orders and payments MUST be in by this day!  We can make no exceptions, because we’re on a tight schedule with Angel Food Ministries’ main office.  Orders cannot be placed after the order due date.  Online orders often have extended order dates.  Please check our website to see if this might help you!

When is Delivery Day?
Check your menu or the website to find out this month’s Delivery Day and time.  Food pick-up is only available during this time.  Please make sure to be prompt!  We want our volunteers to be able to go home on time.  Also, we don’t have freezer facilities to store the food.  Any orders that are not picked up will be delivered to a family in need.  Unfortunately, we cannot offer any refunds in this circumstance.

What Should I Bring to Delivery Day?
It helps us if you bring one large box for each combo box you ordered (We will exchange them and give you one that we've already filled with food).  The other items come pre-boxed.  Also make sure you bring a copy of your receipt (that you printed when you placed your order).  If you’re picking up for someone else, you need to bring their receipt or else a signed note from them saying you have their permission to pick up their order.

Where do I Pick up my Food?
You’ll pick up your food at the Liquid Church in Fort Wayne.  Our address is 8631 US Hwy 27 S.  We are located between the new Wal-Mart and I-469.  Drive on up to the front doors and we'll come out to meet you!  CLICK HERE for directions.

What's the Procedure for Picking up my Food?

Just drive up to the front door and someone will come out to greet you.  We will verify your order and then one of our runners will deliver the order to your car for you and help load it in your trunk or back seat.  It takes about five minutes, in and out!

What if I Can't Pick Up my Food?

We don't have any place to store extra food, so you'll need to have someone else pick it up for you.  You can print a copy of receipt and have your friend or relative bring this card with them when they come.

What do I do if I Have Food I Don’t Like or Want?
What a great question! You can donate it back to the Liquid Church Food Pantry. Everything in the Food Pantry is used to help families in need. Please consider supporting the Food Pantry, rather than just throwing away your food. We can take dry, canned and frozen items.

Do you Have Any Special Provisions for the Handicapped?

If you have a condition that will require special assistance, please contact us ahead of time, and we'll be happy to make accommodations for you.  We can pre-box your order and have it ready to go so that you don't need to leave your car.

What if There are Changes? How will I Know?
Menu substitutions, schedule changes and delivery dates and times are always posted and updated on our website. It’s always best to check online before you come because we keep the website up to date with our most current information. If you don’t have internet access, you can always call the office to check for changes before you come to pick up your food.

I Have More Questions.  Who Can Help Me?

You can always check the website for updates & info.  Click the "Check Updates" Link to find out if there have been any changes to delivery times or any order substitutions.  If you still have questions, contact Rachel at the church office (260-441-0675) or on the Angel Food Hotline (260-446-2515).
